MATLAB Parallel Computing Toolbox accesses more data

December 9th, 2009 · No Comments

The MathWorks has announced a new version of its Parallel Computing Toolbox, version 4.2, with an updated distributed array construct to enable engineers to directly access session data from a MATLAB session that is stored on multicore computers or computer clusters.

The new Parallel Computing Toolbox from The MathWorks offers key algorithms in MATLAB’s Statistics Toolbox and Communications Toolbox, which now execute faster when run in conjunction with Parallel Computing Toolbox, according to the company.

According to The MathWorks, with the new capabilities in Parallel Computing Toolbox, engineers and scientists can make better use of advanced hardware from their desktops. Distributed arrays and the improved set of MathWorks parallel computing tools that work with them enable MATLAB users to easily manipulate large data sets that reside on a computer cluster or multicore computer without significant changes to algorithm code.
