What if rumors of an Apple-Nvidia falling-out mean that Apple is building their own GPUs? The site admits that it’s just speculation, but that some Apple news in recent months hint that it could be at least a remote possibility.
For example, Apple has been hiring AMD/ATI CTO-level execs over the past year, including Bob Drebin and Raja Koduri. Prior to working at Apple Drebin was chief technology officer in the Graphics Products Group at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) from 2006-2008. He also served as an engineering director/fellow at ATI Technologies from 2000-2006 (ATI was bought by AMD). Other companies at which Drebin has worked include ArtX, Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI), Pixar and Lucasfilm.
