Intel to tweak desktop ‘Nehalem’ line-up in Q2

Prepare for faster Core i7 ‘Nehalem’ desktop processors next quarter, including a 3.33GHz successor to the current Core i7 Extreme 965.

The top-of-the-line part, the 975, will replace the 965. Like the letter, the new chip will have 6.4GT/s - billion transfers per second - of QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) bandwidth and 8MB of cache. It to will cost $999 when purchased in batches of 1000 CPUs, a variety of Asian websites claim.
