Cilk Arts Releases Cilk++ 1.0 for Linux

December 25th, 2008 · No Comments

From the Cilk Arts Blog:

“For the coder who has everything…we just shipped the 1st release of Cilk++ for Linux!
Cilk++ is best suited for applications that meet the following criteria:

1. Application performance is compute bound
2. Performance can be improved by accelerating serial (i.e., single-threaded) portions of the application
3. The application is written in C or C++, and can be compiled with the GNU compiler

(Cilk++ is meant for multithreading purposes only. Void where prohibited. Some assembly required. Contents may settle during shipment. Use only as directed. Cilk++ is a choking hazard for children under 3. Do not use while operating a motor vehicle or heavy equipment. This is not an offer to sell securities. Apply only to affected area. May be too intense for some coders. If condition persists, consult your physician. As seen on TV. Slippery when wet. No anchovies unless otherwise specified. In the unlikely event of a compilation lasting more than 4 hours, consult your physician immediately. Driver does not carry cash. This supersedes all previous notices.)”
