Imperas’ CEO to Discuss Value of Virtual Platforms for Embedded Software

October 24th, 2008 · No Comments

Simon Davidmann, chief executive officer and founder of Imperas Ltd., will participate in a panel titled, “Virtual Platforms: Are they Worth the Investment?,” Monday, October 27, at the Embedded Systems Conference Boston.

The panel, to be held from 4:45-5:45 p.m. at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, will explore effects virtual platforms have on the software development process and explore where virtual prototyping technologies are heading.

Davidmann will discuss the goal of Open Virtual Platforms (OVP), the initiative Imperas launched earlier this year, to provide the infrastructure technology –– easy-to-use open source and free, focused on multicore and speed –– for embedded software development. “OVP provides a new perspective on the ROI process,” says Davidmann. “It makes virtual platforms more compelling for embedded software development and enables the community to participate in an ecosystem around embedded software development. With software complexity increasing, the simulation capability offered by virtual platforms is vital to reducing bug escapes and improving the productivity of software developers.”
