Advanced Micro Devices Inc. has unveiled long-awaited details of the company’s asset-lite manufacturing strategy, which the microprocessor and graphics IC manufacturer has been developing for more than one year.
Dirk Meyer, AMD’s president and CEO, talked at length about the benefits of the new plan, and the potential impact on the semiconductor industry, during a conference call with reporters on Tuesday (Oct. 7).
