Pointing to IBM Corp’s announcement Tuesday afternoon that it will invest $1 billion in its East Fishkill, NY, semiconductor plant over the next three years, IBM’s Meyerson began his keynote address Tuesday at the Semicon West tradeshow by noting that the news is “really about the challenge of keeping this industry going. The challenges are technical and the challenges are to the business model.”
