Steve Furniss, Sun’s vice-president of global sales and services, believes the old Moore’s Law is not working anymore, and what the computer industry needs is a new paradigm. He says the advent of Web 2.0 and other business applications are causing growth on a scale that “is beyond everyone’s comprehension”, and the processing speeds of chips are failing to keep up with demand.
